Cellnex Telecom wins Scale Up award from the Energy Industries Council at ceremony in London
London, 07 October 2022 – Cellnex was announced the winner of the ‘Scale up’ category at the Energy Industry Council (EIC) awards yesterday evening in London.
The Scale up award recognises Cellnex’s work ‘to increase a business’ production, size or capacity in a marked and rapid way, above normal growth rates’. Cellnex’s private network solutions can help to significantly enhance operations within the energy industries; driving increased efficiency, productivity and growth.
An example of Cellnex’s contribution to scaling up the industry is their project for Boliden Mining. Through their private networks business unit, Edzcom, Cellnex deployed a private network for Boliden which rapidly improved declining productivity by enabling the remote monitoring of autonomous vehicles – increasing revenues by an estimated €8.8 million a year. Another key project recognised by the EIC is Cellnex’s private 5G network solution for leading chemical firm BASF Spain, which significantly boosted network coverage at their production centre in Tarragona, enabling mobile worker communication, geolocation tracking, monitoring of downtime assets and cybersecurity enhancements.
“I’m thrilled that Cellnex has won the Scale up award – we’re doing some really exciting work in the private network space, and energy is a key sector for us. It’s great that our work has been recognised by the industry and we look forward to making more connections through the EIC and helping more organisations to ramp up their productivity” said Martin Green, Head of Business Development at Cellnex UK.
