Cellnex Telecom cooperates with Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders

  • For the eighth consecutive year the company dedicates its specific budget for Christmas gifts to NGOs

Barcelona/Rome, 3th December 2018. This Christmas, Cellnex Telecom will continue with its policy of cooperating with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). The corporate donation by the telecommunications services and infrastructures operator will this year go to various educational, aid and development programmes managed by Save the Children and Medici Senza Frontiere (the Italian delegation of Doctors Without Borders). In this way, the company dedicates its specific budget for Christmas gifts to NGOs for the eighth consecutive year.

The company will cooperate in funding the education programmes and efforts to combat child poverty that Save the Children performs in Europe as well as international medical-humanitarian relief projects managed by Medici Senza Frontiere.

About Save the Children

Save the Children is the leading independent organisation defending children’s rights throughout the world. It works in more than 120 countries saving lives, providing security and protection to children and defending their rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In Europe, the organisation works specifically with programmes providing care for the most vulnerable children, focusing on children at risk of poverty or social exclusion. Through its projects in our country, Save the Children provides comprehensive care for children and their families to ensure that their economic situation or social exclusion does not prevent them from fully enjoying their rights and reaching their full potential.

About Medici Senza Frontiere

MSF manages medical-humanitarian assistance in more than 70 countries around the world. Since it was set up, the organisation has treated more than a hundred million patients, with more than ten million outpatient visits made in 2017 alone, and maintains its absolute independence from governments and institutions. Furthermore, MSF reserves the right to intervene publicly to denounce neglected crises, question shortcomings in or misuse of the assistance system and defend the improvement of medical treatments and protocols.

MSF rejects the idea that poor countries deserve third-class medical services, which is why it strives to provide its patients with the highest quality care. At the same time, MSF seeks to constantly improve the internal practices of its organisation. Over the years, MSF has received many prestigious awards in recognition of its humanitarian work in the medical field. MSF received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
