Driving smarter utilities management through sustainable asset-sharing
Our client Netmore is one of the leading operators transforming the future of utilities through IoT, modernising utility operations: improving efficiency, reducing costs, enhancing customer satisfaction, and promoting sustainability.
Listen to this article:
Netmore is providing several large water utilities companies with IoT connectivity for smarter resource management, including water metering. Netmore was looking to co-locate their equipment on Cellnex UK infrastructure, working closely together to determine the optimal locations that would help them provide the best service for their customers. Cellnex’s sustainable asset-sharing model meant Netmore were able to explore a wide range of infrastructure options for their equipment, including street infrastructure. Together, 12 Cellnex UK streetworks sites were selected that were not only more cost-effective than larger tower sites, but were also able to connect to a high volume of water meters.
Dominic Murphy, Head of Network Delivery – UK and Ireland at Netmore: “Cellnex UK’s innovative approach to repurposing street fixtures for network densification provides significant value to Netmore as we are continuously exploring ways to reduce the cost of our network infrastructure. The cost efficiencies offered by this solution translate directly to the speed and scale that we can connect devices, like smart water meters, to our network and help us meet our customers’ overall solution requirements more effectively.”
