Radio Televisión Española
Since late 2012, RTVE has been making a series of test broadcasts of 4K content using various means, such as DTT (DVB-T2), satellite (DVB-S2) and internet (Hbb-TV and Dash), both independently and simultaneously. Since then RTVE has produced several programmes in 4K, which have been used for these broadcasts, using both live and recorded material. This confirms that RTVE is at the forefront and is a pioneer in the use of this technology.
To this end it has worked with EBU and subsequently with other important companies in the sector. RTVE has experimented with DVB-T2 broadcasts in various different configurations and locations, as in this case, in which it has tested the processes and techniques involved. The positive results obtained prove the feasibility of broadcasting such content via DTT, making such broadcasts a reality.
