Cellnex Telecom cooperates with the emergency funds managed by UNHCR and Médicos Sin Fronteras

  • For the seventh consecutive year the company dedicates its specific budget for Christmas gifts to non-governmental organisations.

Barcelona/Rome, 4 December 2017. This Christmas, Cellnex Telecom continues its policy of cooperating with non-governmental organisations, and this year will dedicate its corporate donation to the emergency funds managed by UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) and Medici Senze Frontiere, the Italian delegation of Médicos Sin Fronteras.

The telecommunications infrastructure operator has been dedicating its specific budget for Christmas gifts to non-governmental organisations for seven years now.

On this occasion, Cellnex has considered it necessary to dedicate its donation to the emergency funds raised and managed by UNHCR and Medici Senze Frontiere, prestigious organisations that perform their work in support of the population in areas affected by natural disasters or suffering from armed conflicts.

About UNHCR

The Spanish Committee of UNHCR collects funds to meet the needs of the most vulnerable refugees and displaced persons, supporting UNHCR’s humanitarian aid programmes (nutrition, health care, drinking water and sanitation, education, shelter and basic infrastructure, legal assistance and international protection, etc.) worldwide.

About Medici Senze Frontiere

MSF has offices in 28 countries with more than 35.000 people across the world. Since its founding, MSF has treated over a hundred million patients – with 9.792.200 outpatient consultations being carried out in 2016 alone.

MSF remains fiercely independent of both governments and institutions. MSF also reserves the right to speak out to bring attention to neglected crises, challenge inadequacies or abuse of the aid system, and to advocate for improved medical treatments and protocols.

MSF rejects the idea that poor countries deserve third-rate medical services and strives to provide high-quality care to patients. Simultaneously, and with equal vigor, MSF continuously seeks to improve the organisation’s own practices.

Over the years, MSF has received many prestigious awards in recognition of its medical humanitarian work. In 1999, MSF received the Nobel Peace Prize.
