Global ITV (2013 – 2015)

GlobalITV is a European-Brazilian project whose objective is to develop an interoperability framework that enables different integrated digital television systems (iDTV), i.e., television sets with an integrated receiver, and Smart TVs, to operate jointly, exchanging information (either general or personal). The definitive aim is to lay the foundations for a global and interoperable platform. Major Brazilian and European companies, organisations and research establishments have decided to join forces. The consortium is convinced that it has all the resources it needs to define and showcase a reliable migration path and a coexistence scenario towards a nextgeneration hybrid TV platform based on established standards. The extensive experience of all the partners, and the assessment of the GLOBAL ITV Council, will guarantee the definition of viable solutions with a direct grip on the market and a clear perspective for the future. Cellnex Telecom is actively participating in the development of the Council and in the project dissemination tasks.
