Long-term strategic partnership between Digi and Cellnex Portugal the deployment of 2,000 PoPs until entails the end of 2023
Lisbon-Barcelona, 22 September, 2022.- Digi and Cellnex Portugal reached a nationwide strategic long-term agreement comprising the roll-out of 2,000 PoPs (Points of Presence) until the end of 2023.
Even if this partnership is in its early stages, the initial few hundreds of infrastructures have already been made available to Digi.
In line with the significant investments Cellnex is making in the 12 countries where it is present to allow for the swiftest and most economical introduction of 5G, Cellnex Portugal is investing significantly in supporting both incumbents and new entrants to the market in providing the best possible mobile communications’ coverage and quality of service in in the whole of Portugal.
“This partnership is a testament to the pro-competitive nature of the Cellnex wholesale, neutral and independent industrial positioning, allowing Portugal to enjoy a more economically rational utilization of its telecom infrastructures”, commented Nuno Carvalhosa, Managing Director of Cellnex Portugal.
