- The company is committed to the ten principles of the Compact concerning human rights, working standards, environment and anti-corruption throughout its organisational structure as well as in its strategy and daily actions
- The United Nations Global Compact now has over 8,000 signatories, including companies and institutions in 135 countries
Cellnex Telecom, one of Europe’s main independent operators of wireless telecommunications broadcasting infrastructures, has signed up to the United Nations Global Compact as an expression of its commitment to internationalising the concept of corporate social responsibility in its operational strategy and organisational culture. The United Nations Global Compact is an international voluntary initiative that includes more than 8,000 companies and institutions across 135 countries.
With this agreement, Cellnex Telecom takes on a commitment to promote and spread corporate sustainability policies and practices based on the ten key principles promoted by the United Nations, focusing on the areas of human rights, labour standards, environment and anti-corruption in the business activities of companies. The United Nations Global Compact is a practical framework that offers its signatories a wide range of management tools and useful resources for building a responsible business model.
Cellnex Telecom’s commitment to the United Nations Global Compact is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, fully integrated among the links of the value chain that the company is creating. It is a strategic plan based on implementing actions to ensure the sustainability of the business model in its various dimensions (economic, social and environmental) and improving dialogue with all stakeholders, especially the company working team, its customers, suppliers and contractors, administrations and the community as a whole.
In the words of Tobías Martínez, Managing Director of Telecom Cellnex, “one of our principles as a company is to promote and support those who advocate international standards of ethics and corporate responsibility, which is why we decided to sign up to the United Nations Global Compact. We trust that the Global Compact will continue to grow, with more and more companies committed to its aims, because that will mean that we are more aware of the practices that we must develop in order to consolidate truly sustainable company and business models “.
