SIRENA (3D Systems and technologies of the Internet of the Future and Next Generation Broadcasting Networks ) is a project in the INNPACTO programme of the former Ministry of Science and Innovation (Since 2015, part of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) whose objective is to establish an innovative worldwide web-based multimedia distribution that will permit intelligent content management and distribution through the next-generation telecommunication networks.
This research project seeks to establish a consistent ensemble of activities that will lead to the development of major advances in this field of Web-based Multimedia Technologies:
- New formats and standards for theproduction and management of multimedia web content.
- Convergence of media, networks and terminals for the distribution of multimedia content.
- Adaptation of network content and customisation.
