Barcelona, 16 December 2019. This year Cellnex will work together with UNICEF as part of its policy of cooperating with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), ongoing since 2010, allocating the budget item that it previously dedicated to Christmas gifts.
This year, under the Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Plan, Cellnex will contribute to the UNICEF programme entitled “For me and for all my friends”, which aims to fight for gender equality and against discrimination. The project focuses especially on girls – and women – who suffer exclusion in areas such as education, health, political participation and economic opportunities, facing risk situations to their well-being and their rights. All of Cellnex’s contribution will go to this cause, aiming to provide everyone with the same rights, the same opportunities and the same level of protection.
This UNICEF programme is part of the NGO’s global campaign to raise awareness and foster debate around the state of health, education and child protection in all parts of the world. Through this campaign, UNICEF aims to give a voice to children themselves, who do not have a way to call for their own rights.
Cellnex is also seeking to meet one of the goals set out in the company’s CSR Master Plan, helping to build a fairer and more just society and providing value and positive impact to the community. Over these last nine years, in which Cellnex has refocused the application of resources that were intended for Christmas gifts, the company has taken part in various programmes by entities such as Caritas, Food Bank, Action Against Hunger, Save The Children, Doctors Without Borders, UNHCR or the Spanish Red Cross, to name just a few.
