Training for the future
The People department is readying the fourth Cellnex MBA, in collaboration with the EADA business school
Every year Cellnex offers the possibility to 20 professionals from the 12 countries where the company operates to complete a multidisciplinary personalised programme in the form of a Master in Business Management (MBA). This programme aims to foster the development of Cellnex professionals that show potential and to help them to increase their skills, abilities and internal knowledge to prepare them for management and leadership roles. According to the Linkedin “Workplace Learning” report, personalised training aligned with professional interests and goals is among the top five motivations of employees.
“I’m really excited. What I expect from the Cellnex MBA is a personal and professional transformation. I hope to meet a lot of amazing people with skills different to mine. I hope to have fun, learn a lot, step outside my comfort zone and, within a year, to have a totally new vision of Cellnex and how I can influence the company,” explains Catherine Gull, Partner Program Manager at Cellnex and a participant in the third edition of the MBA.
Cellnex began this type of internal training in 2020 in partnership with the EADA business school, and is fully aligned with the company’s leadership model. Students receive online and in-person content that matches the real situation of the business from external and in-house experts who provide them with best practices and strategies.
“What I liked most about this training was the fact that we are all part of Cellnex, so when we are doing exercises and we have to share our experiences or day-to-day problems, we are surrounded by people who understand what we mean, understand the names we say, understand the culture we’re talking about, and that helps us very clearly to see the practical application of what we’re learning,” says Catarina Veiga, Economic Analyst at Cellnex Portugal and participant in the second edition of the Cellnex MBA.
The content is structured into the four leadership models fostered by the company:
– Inspirational Leader: For a leader to inspire their team, they must know the values and culture of the company, they must know how to lead diverse teams. The programme offers training for students to learn Cellnex’s values in depth.
– Coach Leader: The coach leader keeps the team together no matter what, aligning and including everyone. The programme trains participants in this type of skills.
– Transformational leader: In order to foster business growth and drive the changes that the company needs, the transformational leader must have an in-depth knowledge of the strategy, products, trends, etc. In this case the content for the participants is provided by experts from Cellnex who work with these issues every day.
– Operational leader: The operational leader takes the sustainability of the business into account, which is why part of the training content involves knowing the customers, sales methods, legal and financial framework and markets. This content is also provided by Cellnex’s own experts, who of course know the business the best.
“For me, the Cellnex MBA provides a boost to our learning process, a boost to commit to our own culture, a boost to have a much better and more powerful network throughout the company,” comments Ignacio Artola, Global Finance Expert at Cellnex and a participant in the second edition of the Cellnex MBA.
The Cellnex People department is currently working on the fourth MBA scheduled for early 2024.
