Cellnex Poland opens its regional offices

In line with the integration plan, Cellnex Poland is merging organizational structures in Poznań, Katowice and the Tricity.

5 October 2023, Poznan, Katowice and Gdynia: Following the opening of Cellnex Poland’s first office in Warsaw in October 2022, the company is opening regional offices in three locations – Poznan, Katowice and Gdynia.

Cellnex’s newly established offices will be home to the combined teams of OnTower and Towerlink, part of Cellnex Poland. The companies were acquired by Cellnex in 2021 from Play and Polkomtel. At the end of 2022, Cellnex Poland opened its first office in the newly constructed LIXA-C building in the centre of Warsaw, integrating the OnTower and Towerlink teams working in the capital.

The new locations will host a total of app. 200 employees and will be Cellnex Poland’s largest offices outside of Warsaw. As employees move to the new offices in the aforementioned locations, the company will gradually merge the teams operating across Poland, i.e. in 19 locations in the country.

The impact of the company’s activity in Poland in relation to the country’s GDP is equivalent to 0.14% of GDP, measured in direct impact, but also economic activity generated by the company’s expenses.

We are finalizing a very important stage for our company regarding the integration of the Cellnex, Play and Polkomtel teams. Combining teams with different corporate cultures is a necessary element of the company’s consolidation, without it we would not be able to take care of the highest standards of customer service. When choosing new locations, we were therefore tasked with two main objectives – to prepare comfortable working conditions for our employees and to choose suitably located sites, enabling us to reach base stations within 2 hours. I believe that with the creation of a common workspace for our employees, we will be able to achieve the highest efficiency in the management of shared telecommunications infrastructure faster – said Santiago Argelich Hese, President of The Board, Cellnex Poland.

In April 2021, Cellnex acquired 60 per cent of Play’s telecommunications infrastructure (OnTower Poland Sp. z o.o.), and within the next two years became the owner of all the shares. In June 2021, the company acquired 99.9 per cent of Polkomtel Infrastruktura, part of the Cyfrowy Polsat Group, which is now part of TowerLink Poland Sp z o.o., managed by Cellnex Poland. The Cellnex Poland team now comprises almost 500 employees (i.e. 250 in network design and development management and 220 in network maintenance and management). Cellnex, which currently has almost 16,000 locations, has invested more than PLN 10 billion in Poland and has committed to invest another PLN 8.5 billion over the next 10 years.
