IBETEC awards Cellnex broadcasting rights for its radio and television signals for the next four years

The public entity that manages telecommunications in the Balearic Islands and Cellnex have renewed their contract to the tune of nearly €4 million.

Palma de Mallorca, 5 July 2023. The Balearic Islands Public Business Entity for Telecommunications and Innovation (IBETEC) and Cellnex Group company Tradia have formalised the awarding of the broadcasting of its radio and television signals to the telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructure operator. This involves managing 29 DTT centres and 11 FM radio stations for the next 4 years for an overall sum of €3.9 million. IBETEC put out the provision of these services out to public tender at the beginning of April this year.

Cellnex will renew and operate the DTT headends for broadcasting the IB3 channel, both in SD and HD, and the channels of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation as well as the independent channel FIBWI. In the radio field, Cellnex will provide IBETEC with FM services for the IB3 Ràdio channel.
